COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

 

Eagle FM will remain an independent reporter of news affecting the nation. Through promoting freedom speech and at all times ensuring that it adheres to the Code of ethics and Conduct for Media (click on the link to access the copy).

Eagle FM does not prohibit freedoms of speech of its callers as they can express themselves through engagements on this platform.

Eagle FM, wishes to receive, consider and investigate the listeners’ concerns, comments and complaints to ensure that the best services are provided at all times. Eagle FM strives to address these complaints in a prompt and timely fashion. To achieve this, Eagle FM has created the “BOX BUDDY” where all the complaints, comments, concerns will be collected and responded to.

Corrections and clarifications will thus be provided by the “BOX BUDDY”, and further “on air” should that be necessary.

The BOX BUDDY will not look to complaints that fall outside its editorial content. BOX BUDDY aims to respond to your complaint within 72 hours.

 

THE “BOX BUDDY” will not respond to the following complaints

  • That are personal attacks on a person’s character, be it a guest, presenter or caller.
  • From anyone not personally and directly affected by the matter which forms the subject of the complaint.
  • That are trivial, hypothetical or otherwise vexatious or insignificant.
  • That are without justification and only aim to frustrate the operation of Eagle FM
  • About advertising, unless such advertising is defamatory and discriminatory
  • That are legal complaints.

  • The program and specific content that you are complaining about.
  • The date on which it was aired
  • The nature of your complaint in no more than 400 words.
  • Which part of the Editorial Content it breaches.

Please note that in making a complaint, you agree to respond promptly to any request for further information. Our complaints process is free of charge, regardless of outcome.

We reserve the right to amend this policy as required. We will publish the current policy on our website. Your complaint will be considered against the published policy on the date of receipt of your complaint.
