LACK of investments in the education sector in Namibia is one of the factors preventing teaching to evolve into a profession that attracts investments and opportunities for teacher development and expansion.
This is according to the Secretary General of the Teachers Union of Namibia (TUN), Mahongora Kavihuha, who highlighted that there are no systems to integrate a huge number of graduate teachers who have been roaming the streets unemployed for years.
Yesterday, Namibia joined the global community in celebrating Global Teachers’ Day under the theme “The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage.”
