Kenya is set to eliminate visa requirements for all African visitors by the end of this year, a move meant to improve the country’s trade relations with other nations.
This decision, announced by President William Ruto at a recent climate change conference, aligns Kenya with countries such as Seychelles, The Gambia, and Benin, which have already adopted similar policies.
While delivering his statement at the event held in the Congo-Brazzaville, Ruto emphasised the importance of fostering greater collaboration and trade among African nations, asserting that visa restrictions hinder progress.
He stressed the need to allow goods, services, people, and ideas to flow freely across the continent, citing the benefits of removing visa requirements and tariffs within the East African Community in promoting trade.
