Public Relations students from the University of Science and Technology took their coursework to a practical level by launching the “Diabetes Sugar Smart” campaign in honour of World Diabetes Day.

The initiative, which kicked off with an activation event at Pioniers Boys School on 9 November 2023, aims to challenge stereotypes surrounding type one diabetes and foster a more informed understanding of the disease. As part of their efforts, the students conducted a media tour to disseminate information about diabetes to a broader audience.

The discussions covered common misconceptions, lifestyle choices, and the realities of living with diabetes.
