Local entrepreneur Marisna Burger has emphasised the need for Namibians to abandon an entitlement attitude, which she believes contributes to a culture of dependency.
Burger asserts that unlocking Namibia’s potential requires a shift in mindset, particularly away from relying on external assistance for every need.
Burger’s comments come amid public calls for improved government drought relief programs, with some expressing dissatisfaction over the perceived inadequacy of the provided assistance, consisting of a 12kg bag of maize, two canned fish, and a bottle of cooking oil.
In an interview with Eagle FM last week, Burger stressed the existence of entrepreneurial opportunities within the economy, suggesting that addressing economic gaps requires a focus on entrepreneurship.
