Despite warnings to cease with the illegal activity, members of the public in the Omusati region continue vandalising telecommunication infrastructure, causing disruptions in connectivity in the region.
The most recent incident occurred when a network tower belonging to the Mobile Telecommunication (MTC), near Omakange in the Ruacana Constituency was vandalised.
MTC’s communication manager, John Ekongo, expressed dismay over these unlawful activities.
Ekongo emphasised MTC’s commitment to investing in quality connectivity for all citizens and highlighted that such incidents impede their efforts.
The 48-metre solar-powered Omakange tower serves parts of Kunene and Omusati region’s outlying areas, including Otjombura, Okozoserandu, Okaholo, and Amaupa Primary School.
