Andrada Mining has initiated the implementation of an ore sorting circuit at the Uis mine to ramp up tin concentrate production from 1,500 t/y to 2,600 t/y.

This move is expected to escalate revenue by 75% and lower the mining operation’s all-in sustaining costs.

Ore sorting involves the separation of waste materials from ore streams, resulting in improved concentrations of metals and minerals in the material destined for the mill.

The funding for the ore sorting project is fully provided by the Orion Resource Partners facility, supplementing the company’s Continuous Improvement II program, which is backed by the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN).
