The pressing need for affordable housing in Namibia is creating both opportunities and challenges for the construction sector, according to economic researcher Halleluya Ndimulunde of Simonis Storm Securities.

This comes in light of the City of Windhoek’s authorization of 192 construction plans in February 2024, marking a significant increase from the 76 plans granted in January 2024.

Compared to February 2023, this represents an 8.5% year-on-year growth and a staggering 152.6% month-on-month increase.
