Members of the Wisdom Youth Organisation are frustrated over their dismissal from a farm they claim was granted to them by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform in 2015.
The farm, situated near Otavi, was intended to provide employment opportunities for the youth under the supervision of Freddy Haixwa, the founder of the youth organisation.
Lydia Shikongo* (not her real name), a former employee of the farm, stated that the farm employed youth from all 14 regions and was intended to help them become self-sufficient.
