The government’s Resident By Investment Programme, aimed at raising N$50 billion through a “Golden Visa” initiative, is currently behind schedule, according to the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).

The programme is a key component of the economic pillar of the Harambee Prosperity Plan II and was assigned to NIPDB and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security for implementation.

In an interview with Eagle FM, NIPDB CEO, Nangula Uaandja, provided an update on the status of the programme stating: “We are in the consultation stage and behind schedule in terms of implementing the visa programme”.
