Welwitchia University celebrated a historic milestone as over 2,500 students graduated in its first ceremony since attaining university status.
The event, held under the theme “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” marked a significant achievement for both the graduates and the institution.
Chancellor Scholastika Iipinge described the graduation as the beginning of a new era for the university, which has transitioned from a health-focused training institution to a fully-fledged university.
“We have grown and transformed to become a university that is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders and innovators. This graduation is a testament to our shared vision, commitment, and resilience,” she said.
Iipinge emphasised the university’s mission to contribute to Namibia’s socio-economic development, aligning with the government’s Vision 2030 to transform the country into a knowledge-driven, industrialised economy.
