Namibia is closely monitoring the situation regarding a flu outbreak in China, identified as Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), which has raised global concerns and the country is prepared to respond if the virus reaches its borders.
This is according to the Executive Director in the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Ben Nangombe who assured the public of the government’s preparedness.
Nangombe said the country regularly tracks global health developments, including public health incidents such as the current outbreak in China.
