A new project aimed at enhancing ocean governance has been launched by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation.
The Blue Benguela Current Action Programme seeks to improve the sustainable management of the Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem (BCLME), a vital marine resource for Southern Africa.
With a budget of N$ 230 million), the initiative will be implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The project will strengthen regional ocean governance and promote sustainable economic opportunities across Angola, Namibia, and South Africa.
