The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform (MAWLR) has strongly refuted claims made by official opposition leader McHenry Venaani regarding the purchase of new tractors from China at a cost of N$360 million instead of addressing minor issues on older ones.

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) leader, Venaani, accused the government of squandering financial resources, claiming that the government was abandoning tractors with only minor problems.

“These tractors are having minor problems yet scrapped as a new fleet is bought from China at a tune of N$ 360 million. New tractors are falling apart,” he had said.

However, the ministry said there is no evidence of new tractors falling apart, calling Venaani’s allegations misleading.
