Agriculture Minister Calle Schlettwein has expressed concern that the already struggling green schemes projects are unlikely to achieve their full production capacity due to the latest budget allocation.

Schlettwein says one of the factors which have been affecting production at green schemes was the persistent resource constraints.

He made these comments in light of the N$1,9 billion allocation to his ministry for the 2024/25 financial year, as announced by Finance Minister IipumbuShiimi.

The budget includes earmarked funds, such as N$50 million for land purchases to address concerns of generational farm workers and N$87 million dedicated to enhancing animal health and marketing in communal areas.
