The Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) is currently drafting a Digital Literacy Framework to guide Namibia’s efforts in enhancing digital literacy across the nation.
ICT Minister Emma Theofelus confirmed the framework’s development during MTC’s Tech Conference at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair this week. Panellists at the conference emphasised that Namibia’s goal of bridging the digital divide will remain unattainable without substantial improvements in digital literacy.
“Our journey towards a fully digital Namibia cannot succeed without a digitally literate population,” Theofelus stated, acknowledging the significant gap in digital skills and the need for more focused efforts to close it.
