The Namibia Student Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) says it needs about N$2.5 billion to be able to support approximately 23,700 eligible applicants next year.
This was revealed by NSFAF Chief Executive Officer Kennedy Kandume during the launch of the online application process this week.
At the event, Kandume also highlighted successful initiatives, such as monthly payments for non-tuition fees, and expressed hope for continued support.
However, he noted challenges with late tuition payments, attributing them to delays in receiving student invoices from higher learning institutions.
He stated, “the enhancement in financial backing underscores the trust and confidence that the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology, and Innovation has placed in NSFAF’s ability to empower Namibian students.”
