The Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN) has reported a significant increase in cancer cases, with an average of 4,300 new cases annually, up from 3,700.

This information was highlighted in a statement released by Bank Windhoek during the launch of its Cancer Apple Project, which raises funds for CAN’s outreach program.

According to CAN, breast cancer remains the most life-threatening cancer, while prostate cancer is the most prevalent cancer in Namibia, with the highest incidence rate per 100,000 population.

Cervical cancer ranks third, and there is an alarming rise in “modern or lifestyle” cancers such as colorectal and lung cancer.
