The Onandjokwe Intermediate Hospital and Ondangwa Private Hospital hosted the annual Namibian Surgical Society (NSS) workshop from September 18 to 21.

Approximately 24 doctors, along with 12 nurses from various regions and abroad, attended the event.

Akutu Munyika, a specialist surgeon and Secretary of the NSS, told The Villager that the society began its laparoscopic training journey in 2018 but had to pause in 2019 due to interruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Munyika emphasised their intention to resume skills development and transfer in Minimally Invasive Surgery, aiming to meet high standards comparable to those in developed countries.
