The developers of a phosphate mining project in Namibia are seeking clear guidance from the government regarding the project’s future.
Specifically, they are looking for direction on whether to proceed with its development or not.
In a meeting held with the Parliamentary Standing Committees on Natural Resources and the Committee on Economics and Public Administration, Namibian Marine Phosphate (NMP) (Pty) Ltd expressed concerns about the project’s progress and prospects in the country.
The company emphasised the need for clear directives on the project’s future, which should be communicated through relevant line ministries, including the Ministries of Mines and Energy, Fisheries, and Environment.
