Canadian oil and gas exploration company, Reconnaissance Energy Africa (ReconAfrica), is set to tap significant potential in its Naingopo well located northeast of Namibia.
The anticipated yield from this exploration effort is estimated at 3.1 billion barrels of oil.
On Monday, ReconAfrica, in collaboration with its joint venture partner, the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor), announced the commencement of drilling at the Naingopo exploration well on Petroleum Exploration Licence 73 (PEL 73), situated onshore in northeast Namibia.
According to the latest prospective resource report by Netherland, Sewell & Associates Inc. (NSAI) dated March 12, 2024, the well could potentially hold an estimated 18 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
