The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) has expressed its satisfaction of the 2024/25 national budget, presented in parliament last month.

NCCI president Bisey /Uirab noted that the budget reflects a consideration of the concerns and proposals put forth by the business community.

He particularly highlighted the tax policy outlined in the budget as commendable.

The N$100 billion budget for 2024/25, presented by Finance Minister Iipumbu Shiimi, included significant tax adjustments, notably raising the individual income tax threshold from N$50,000 to N$100,000.

Shiimi estimated that this adjustment would inject N$646 million into taxpayers’ pockets.
