The fuel retailing and distribution sector in Namibia is poised for increased competition with the return of the Caltex Retailing Brand under Chevron Corporation.

Chevron announced on Tuesday its re-entry into the Namibian Orange Basin after two decades.

The statement revealed that the Caltex brand resurfaced after Chevron Corporation’s subsidiary entered into a long-term retail trademark licensing agreement with Bachmus Oil and Fuel Supplies Pty Ltd (Bachmus).

This marks the return of the Caltex brand to fuel retailing in Namibia, a globally recognised brand with a presence in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Under the arrangement, Chevron has appointed Bachmus as its licensee to sell, market, and distribute fuels under the Caltex brand in Namibia.
