China has pledged to expand training programs in Namibia to strengthen the country’s skilled workforce in support of its industrialisation and modernisation goals.

Chinese Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, highlighted that Namibia faces a pressing need for skilled professionals across various sectors, especially as it advances its industrialisation, agricultural modernization, and major projects in oil, gas, and green hydrogen development.

Ambassador Zhao made these remarks during the 2024 China-Namibia Training Cooperation Reception last week.

The programs will be implemented through collaboration between the Chinese Embassy and Namibia’s National Planning Commission (NPC), led by Director Ned Sibeya.
