Financial analysts have raised concerns over the circulation challenges the new N$60 banknote may pose, following its launch last week.
The N$60 Dr. Hage Geingob commemorative bank note was launched to honour the late Head of State’s 60 years of service to Namibia, according to Bank of Namibia governor Johannes! Gawaxab.
The new note will circulate as legal tender alongside existing Namibian banknotes.
Potential circulation and accounting challenges have been raised, analysts say banks and payment service providers will need to upgrade ATMs and digital payment systems to seamlessly integrate the N$60 note.
