August 2024 saw a significant increase in building plans approved by the City of Windhoek, with 201 plans cleared, up from 163 in July.

This surge, highlighted in a recent IJG Namibia report, marks the highest number of property additions since October 2022.

The report details that 166 property additions were approved in August, totaling N$57.3 million. Among these, 100 properties were completed, with a combined value of N$21.9 million.

Despite this increase, the report notes that the value remains below the monthly average of N$74.1 million recorded so far this year.

“There’s a notable increase in property additions in both number and value, showing a year-on-year rise of 4.2% in numbers and 60.4% in value,” IJG Namibia stated.
