Health minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula said of the 333 samples tested,16 were positive and the people were placed under quarantine with one hospitalised.
Dr Shangula said 109 were released from the supervised quarantine while 216 still remain.
The government, Dr Shangula, said continues to develop infrastructure during this time such as the 4-bed isolation facility, 20-bed mobile isolation facility and the Screening and testing facility at the Robert Mugabe Clinic to mention a few.
Dr Shangula urged Namibians to remain calm and confident in the measures put in place.
International relations minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said the welfare of Namibians has become the government’s priority.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said at the time of the lockdown in Wuhan, there were 527 students but this number has been reduced to 357 after some returned.
Deputy Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said a contingent of US$20 000 was requested by the Namibian Ambassador to China Elia Kaiyamo.
According to Nandi-Ndaitwah, each student in China received US$220 and that so far US$5 940 has been used while US$14 060 still remains.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said the donation of a batch of coronavirus test kits and prevention materials donated by Chinese billionaire Jack Ma will arrive in Addis Ababa on the 13 April 2020 and will arrive in Namibia soon after that.
