The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) has expressed its readiness to support Namibia’s green hydrogen (GH2) ambitions by creating a regulatory framework that fosters investment, innovation, and collaboration with other government entities.
According to Helene Vosloo, CRAN’s Executive for Economics and Market Development, the regulatory framework will streamline processes, ensure compliance with environmental standards, and support the development of green hydrogen infrastructure.
She also hinted that the framework has to be based on collaboration with other regulators such as the the Electricity Control Board to allow CRAN to support green hydrogen through ICT, especially for energy generation and trading.
