As part of the Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility, the Daures Green Hydrogen Village will receive funding and support to produce ammonium sulfate fertiliser.

This funding, provided through the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation’s (UNIDO) Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility, will enable the development of Namibia’s first carbon-free green fertiliser.

The project is expected to be completed by 2027 and aims to enhance local industrialisation while reducing dependence on imported fertilisers.

The village, situated near Uis in the Erongo area, stands as a pivotal research and proof-of-concept facility for Namibia’s green hydrogen and green ammonia economies.

The project envisions substantial growth, projecting that by 2030, the village could scale up production to export up to 700,000 tonnes of green ammonia in its fourth phase.
