The Daures green hydrogen pilot project is over 95% complete, according to Jerome Namaseb, the project’s chief executive officer.
The initiative aims not only to be Africa’s first 100% Net Zero green community but also to showcase the sustainable production of green hydrogen and ammonia using renewable sources.
Funded by donors, the pilot phase of the project is set to produce 18 tons of hydrogen, 100 tons of green ammonia, and promote carbon-free agriculture.
Namaseb noted that the project seeks to demonstrate the link between green hydrogen, ammonia, and agricultural practices.
One of the main components, the pilot production facility, is nearly complete, with Namaseb confirming its practical readiness.
Additionally, the Agriculture Facility was officially inaugurated by President Nangolo Mbumba. Namaseb also reported that all necessary equipment for hydrogen and ammonia production has been procured and delivered, with installation set to begin shortly.
