A group calling itself Omitara Concerned Group has accused the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform of deliberately excluding the local community from the resettlement programme when it allocated portions to certain people on three units of Farm Gross Osombahe No. 1042.

The concerned farm which was acquired by the government with assistance from the World Food Program (WFP) for agricultural crops and animal husbandry is situated 11 kilometres east of Omitara.

The group claimed that the farm was initially earmarked to accommodate about 110 resettlement applicants, who had each paid a required fee of N$350, through a cooperative called Omitara Farmers Cooperative (OFC).
