Eluwa Special School in Ongwediva will make agriculture a core skill for its learners by 2026.

The school principal, Loide Shipopyeni, told Eagle FM about the move, adding that it is part of efforts to teach practical and relevant skills to their learners.

Eluwa Special School teaches students with intellectual, hearing, and visual impairments.

The school recently launched a school garden after receiving over 200 seedlings and seeds from local farmers and the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform.

“We appreciate this timely donation. As we plant and care for the garden, we will impart knowledge and skills to the learners. By next year, our students will be capable of managing much of the work on their own,” she said.
