Bank of Namibia (BoN) Governor, Johannes !Gawaxab, has emphasised that Namibia must not become a mere bystander in its own green hydrogen development.
Speaking at the Global African Green Hydrogen Summit, !Gawaxab urged Namibian banks and financial institutions to take an active role in combating climate change and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.
“With these emerging industries, we want to see Namibian banks and financial institutions becoming active participants. Investors coming to Namibia need to know that the country is not just a spectator, but a key player in its own game,” he stated.
