The Namibia Petroleum Operators Association (Nampoa) has called for the urgent rehabilitation and expansion of local ports, railways, and vocational training facilities to improve efficiency in the country’s oil and gas sector.

Speaking at the 2024 Mining Expo and Conference in Windhoek, Maria Mbudhi, Chair of Nampoa’s Public Affairs Committee, highlighted the critical need for developing both physical and financial infrastructure to sustain economic growth.

“Developing common infrastructure is crucial for sustaining economic growth,” Mbudhi stated, emphasising the association’s concerns about the current state of infrastructure and its impact on the sector’s growth and efficiency.
