The government has announced plans to generate an additional 330 MW of solar energy, with 120 MW allocated for private sector development.

This is part of the country’s domestic energy generation targets for the next five years, announced by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, in line with the 2022 National Integrated Resources Plan.

The directive tasks both NamPower and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) with contributing to the 330 MW target, leveraging Namibia’s abundant solar radiation.
