Namibia recorded a notable improvement in trade performance in June 2024 with a 37.4% increase in export earnings, rising from N$9.4 billion in May 2024 to N$12.9 billion.

According to the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA), this surge was driven primarily by the mining and quarrying sector, which contributed significantly to the nation’s exports.

The NSA report highlighted that exports from the mining and quarrying sector were valued at N$7.0 billion, representing 54.3% of total exports, and showed a significant month-on-month increase of N$4.4 billion.

Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector contributed 42% to total exports but saw a decrease of N$841 million compared to May 2024.

The agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors also played a role, contributing 3.1% to total exports.
