One of Namibia’s least connected regions, the Kunene, has received its 66th network tower, equipped with 2G/GSM for voice and 4G/LTE for mobile broadband services.

Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) commissioned the new broadband tower in Otjinungua Village, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance connectivity in remote areas.

In a statement released yesterday, MTC highlighted the investment as part of its ongoing 081Every1 national network project, aimed at achieving universal network coverage across Namibia.

MTC spokesperson Erasmus Nekundi reiterated the company’s commitment to expanding access to quality network connectivity.

“The commissioning of Otjinungua network site is a testament to a strategic resolve as executed under the 081Every1 network project, which is driven to achieve 100 percent population network coverage.
