The abolishment of export incentives that favoured companies manufacturing goods in Namibia poses a serious threat to the country’s competitiveness, according to the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).
NIPDB Chief Executive Officer, Nangula Uaandja highlighted these concerns during an interview with Eagle FM at the Namibia Green Hydrogen Forum in New York.
The decision to scrap export preferential treatment afforded to companies registered as manufacturers took effect on 31 December 2020.
