Minister of Industrialisation and Trade, Lucia Iipumbu, has called on local entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and seize opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Speaking at the handover ceremony of the Equipment Aid Scheme (EAS) to business owners from the Khomas, Otjozondjupa, and Omaheke regions on Monday, Iipumbu emphasised the importance of expanding beyond the local market to access the broader African market.
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is an agreement that aims to create a single market for goods and services across the African continent, enabling easier trade, investment, and economic integration.
By unlocking the potential of over 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of over $3.4 trillion, AfCFTA is expected to enhance industrialisation, promote intra-Africa trade, and boost the economies of African countries, including Namibia.
