The government through the Communication Regulatory Authority of Namibia has allocated N$31 million in subsidy to the Mobile Telecommunication, (MTC) to develop nine telecommunications sites.

The sites will be built in the various Regions that are still below 80% 4G coverage.

This is part of the government commitment to the Universal Service Fund Universal which aims to ensure shared ICT usage for all, widespread availability, affordability, and accessibility of ICT infrastructure.

Minister of Information and Communication Technology (MICT), Emma Theofelus,) made the announcement this weekduring the lunch of the Fund.

Theofelus, highlighted that the government has committed a total of N$145 million over three years as seed funding for the Universal Service Fund (USF).
