Namibia has been recognised as one of the 38% of countries that have enacted legislation, made decisions, or taken specific actions in response to Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) resolutions.

This recognition was highlighted during the special accountability segment of the General Debate at the 149th IPU Assembly, which reviewed how parliaments have followed up on IPU resolutions and initiatives.

A survey conducted this year among 37 selected member countries showed Namibia’s progress, particularly its implementation of affirmative action policies aimed at increasing women’s representation in decision-making positions.
