Five years after Namibia and Angola began negotiating a cattle and meat trade agreement, the deal is yet to be finalised, leaving the anticipated framework for trade between the two nations in limbo.

In 2020, reports suggested that the agreement was nearing finalisation, with a draft already approved and signed by technical teams from both countries in October 2019.

At the time, Namibia’s ambassador to Angola, Patrick Nandago, stated that the agreement was undergoing legal scrutiny by the respective authorities, with only the final approval from the Minister of Agriculture pending.

However, despite these developments, the agreement has yet to materialise.
