The Namibian government has collected N$5.96 billion in mining royalties over the past three years.

This was revealed by the Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, Natangwe Iithete, during the ministry’s workshop on draughting its Annual Strategic Plan in

Ithete emphasised the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that the country receives its fair share from the exploitation of its mineral resources.

“Of all the twelve mining licences issued during the last three years, all were subjected to the additional condition to ensure local participation, bringing the local equity in the mining sector,” said Iithete.
