Breast cancer is becoming a growing concern in Namibia, with the number of cases on a consistent rise.
This worrisome trend was highlighted by Rolf Hansen, the Chief Executive Officer of the Namibian Cancer Association during a breast health indaba.
The event coincided with the onset of “Pink October,” which marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Hansen noted that since 2020, an estimated 685,000 deaths due to breast cancer have occurred worldwide, with Africa experiencing a disproportionate impact.
He emphasized the urgent need for more concerted efforts within Africa to save women’s lives from this devastating disease.
