The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) has acknowledged the return of Caltex to the Namibian market and is currently conducting assessments to understand the particulars of this transition.

NAMCOR informed The Villager that Caltex will be operating under the Bachmus umbrella, similar to the model seen with Vivo Energy, which operates under the Shell brand.

Detailed inquiries regarding licensing and market regulation were directed to the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

This statement follows Chevron’s announcement last week of its re-entry into the Namibian Orange Basin after two decades, revealing the return of the Caltex brand through a long-term retail trademark licensing agreement with Bachmus Oil and Fuel Supplies Pty Ltd (Bachmus).
