Petroleum Commissioner Maggy Shino is confident about the forthcoming final investment decisions regarding recent discoveries made by major players such as Total Energies, Shell, Galp, and the existing Kudu Gas field operated by BW Energies.
Shino shared this optimism during the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) Conference in Windhoek, focusing on promoting innovative technology and safe drilling practices for the global oil and gas sector.
The Orange Basin in Namibia has witnessed increased upstream activity from BW Energy, Shell, TotalEnergies, Galp, and Chevron, with recent discoveries unlocking new oil plays in the region.
BW Energy is actively progressing the development of the Kudu gas field as a domestic gas-to-power project and has recently signed a protocol with NamPower to advance the project’s feasibility process.
