Namibia’s top legislative body, the National Assembly, has achieved gender parity with an equal representation of men and women, marking a significant milestone in gender equality in the country’s political arena.

Comprising 104 members, including 96 elected representatives with voting rights and eight appointed by the President without voting rights, the National Assembly welcomed two new Members of Parliament from the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) following the termination of a coalition agreement between PDM and the United People’s Movement (UMP).
