Two workers at the state-owned Kavango Cattle Ranch at Mangetti have been suspended for speaking to the media about the farm’s ongoing troubles attributed to mismanagement.
The farm in question is managed under the Namibia Industrial Development Agency (NIDA) and has approximately 38 camps with over 12 000 cattle.
In July last year, The Villager reported that over 100 cattle had died at the cattle farm, allegedly due to NIDA’s mismanagement.
NIDA said the suspensions of the two workers is based on their “misconduct of engaging with the media on internal matters without the agency’s authorisation,” in line with NIDA’s disciplinary policy.
