Since the launch of its national recovery campaign in 2021, the Namibia Student Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) has managed to recover approximately N$41 million from over 95,000 beneficiaries who owe the institution.
However, out of the vast sum owed to NSFAF, totaling over N$9 billion, only around 4,000 beneficiaries have either paid or arranged to pay their debts.
Kennedy Kandume, the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NSFAF, expressed disappointment at the low number of debtors who have honoured their repayment obligations, given the substantial number who had pledged to do so.
Initially, NSFAF had threatened to publicly disclose the names of all loan defaulters, including through print media.
