President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says only individuals whose fields were destroyed by floods will qualify for government drought relief support.
Nandi-Ndaitwah was speaking during a visit on Saturday to relocation centers in the Omusati, Oshana, and Ohangwena regions.
She assessed the living conditions of flood-displaced residents, monitored aid delivery, and evaluated relief efforts.
“I don’t want to see households registering themselves for drought relief. It is the role of councilors to identify affected households early,” she said, warning that the misallocation of aid could deprive those truly in need.
